The first regional production of Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein The Musical will help to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Manchester musicals powerhouse Hope Mill Theatre (October 10-November 30).
A West End and Broadway hit, adapted by Brooks from his legendary 1974 film starring Gene Wilder, Young Franklenstein tells the story of Frederick, the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, who inherits his family's estate in Transylvania and finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors...
Director and choreographer Nick Winston returns to Hope Mill after the success of Mame in 2019 and most recently the Manchester premiere of Burlesque the Musical at the Opera House.
Nick said: “I am beyond excited to direct this uproarious musical comedy at the brilliant Hope Mill Theatre. The immediacy of this space, mixed with Mel Brooks' iconic humour and the musical's brilliant score, will create a cocktail of laughter and a bit of mad science!”
Hope Mill Theatre first opened its doors in October 2015. Founded by Joseph Houston and William Whelton the multi-award-winning venue has gained a reputation nationally and Internationally for its musicals.
