Young cast for Time Traveller world premiere

(l-r) Phoebe, Eva and Eve - all play young Clare in the world premiere show at Chester's Storyhouse from this weekend

Opening tomorrow for a two-week world-premiere run before transferring to the West End, the new musical version of The Time Traveller's Wife has three young actresses sharing the role of Young Clare. Phoebe Cheffings (12), from Wrexham, Eve Corbishley (13), from Wirral and Eva Johnson (11) from Salford, have all been cast as the character in this world premiere. All three were found from open auditions in Chester in July and they join David Hunter as Henry and Joanna Woodward as the adult Clare.

The love story of Henry and Clare is like no other, as Henry is often uncontrollably ripped out of time, because he suffers from a rare condition under which his genetic clock periodically resets, pulling him into his past or future, never knowing where or when he’s going next. But he does know he’ll always come back to Clare, at some point in time, who is always there, dreaming of her time-travelling husband.

The score is by multi Grammy award-winning composers Joss Stone and Dave Stewart, based on the original novel by Audrey Niffenegger.
