Sir Ian McKellen, John Bishop and Mel Giedroyc star in a spectacular new production of pantomime Mother Goose that premieres for Christmas but will then go on tour until Easter, including northern stops at Sheffield Lyceum (February 14-18) and Liverpool Empire (February 28-March 4).

Bolton-born McKellen, reprising his acclaimed turn as Dame, is Mother Goose, Bishop is her husband Vic Goose and Giedroyc is the Goose. The script is by Jonathan Harvey (Gimme Gimme Gimme, Coronation Street.)

In this version, Mother Goose and her husband Vic run an Animal Sanctuary for waifs and strays and live a wholesome life inside an abandoned Debenhams. But when a goose flies in, will fame and fortune get the better of them?! Will Ma’s feathers be seriously ruffled? Will Pa tell everyone to get stuffed? And is their fair life about to turn fowl?

The show will play at the Theatre Royal Brighton from December 3-11, before a season in London’s West End. More touring dates are to be announced.
