Adapter Andrew Pollard and composer Ziad Jabero swing into the Octagon in Bolton for Christmas with The Jungle Book (November 22-January 4). The pair hope to repeat the success of their Peter Pan at Bolton a couple of years ago.
This new musical adaptation promises catchy songs in a show aimed squarely at family audiences. Director Sarah Punshon said: “We’ve been plotting all kinds of ways for them to swing, climb, and slide their way through the jungle this Christmas and I can’t wait to get started!"
Mowgli and friends Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther, a gang of mischievous monkeys and a pack of wily wolves take the stage as Mowgli learns the laws of the jungle.
The full cast has just been announced, with some making their Octagon debut: Ashley D Gayle as Bagheera; Harveen Mann–Neary as Akeela; Rachel Marwood as Shere Khan; Kiara Nicole Pillai as Mowgli, and Charlie Ryan as Baloo. Daniella Barrett and Imogen Khan complete the cast.
