Blackpool will be turning pink with excitement in anticipation of a new summer production of Grease The Musical, with the famous Tower, Illuminations Arches, Hampton by Hilton Hotel and Grand Theatre itself all getting the blusher treatment for the stage version of the classic film.

The musical, faithful to the film, follows the whirlwind romance between sweet new girl at Rydell High School, Sandy Dumbrowski, and popular cool guy Danny Zuko, who find their Summer Lovin’ challenged by the pressures of teenage high school life.
This co-production between The Grand and Pitlochry Festival Theatre (at the Grand from June 4-14; at Pitlochry, if you are in the area, from June 18-September 27) is directed by Grease fan Sam Hardie, who said: "Grease was the first musical I ever saw and I still remember the feeling, with songs that made you just want to move and characters you longed to be!
"The musical is now over 50 years old but its songs still fill dance floors and karaoke rooms, and play on radio stations across the world.
"Now is the right moment to tell this story and meet these young people, who remind us of the vitality of life.”
Leading the Blackpool Grease cast is Blythe Jandoo (Gypsy) as Sandy; Alexander Service (Heathers The Musical) as Danny; Fiona Wood (Sunshine on Leith) as Rizzo; Tyler Collins (Part of the Century) as Kenickie and Celeste Collier (One Man, Two Guvnors) as Teen Angel.
