Paula Wilcox (Man About The House, The Lovers), Ian Bartholomew (Coronation Street) and Stephen Tompkinson (DCI Banks) head the cast of Hull Truck Theatre's To Have and To Hold (May 1-24), written by internationally-renowned Yorkshire playwright Richard Bean (One Man, Two Guvnors).

Set in the East Yorkshire village of Wetwang, To Have and To Hold follows Jack and Florence who, after 60 years of marriage, have perfected the fine art of bickering and are muddling along just fine. But as their children arrive to help put their affairs in order, family gripes are aired and secrets uncovered...

The show premiered in the West End in 2023; this will be the first post-London production and boasts a new cast.

Hull Truck's artistic director, Mark Babych, said: “It’s a great thrill to be working with Richard Bean and director Terry Johnson again. Both are masters of comedy and I know audiences are in for a great night out, with a super-stellar cast.”

Completing the cast alongside the three stars are are Rebecca Johnson (TV includes Miss Austen, Silent Witness, Call the Midwife, Casualty, and Fleabag); Hull Truck favourite Adrian Hood (this is Adrian’s seventh Richard Bean play, including the original London production of this comedy) and Sara Beharrell.

Writer Richard Bean's play, One Man, Two Guvnors premiered at the National Theatre, had six months on Broadway, a world tour, a West End season and has been produced throughout Europe, while director Terry Johnson is the recipient of a dozen major theatre awards including a Tony for best director of a musical, an Olivier for best musical revival and a Critics Circle best musical award.
