St Helens Theatre Royal reveals its perfect Snow White

Chantelle Morgan - will play Snow White in the St Helens panto this Christmas

Welsh Valleys-dwelling Chantelle Morgan has beaten competition from 150 hopefuls to play the title character in St Helens Theatre Royal's panto Snow White this Christmas.

Chantelle says she is "extremely excited" to join the popular panto’s cast following the extensive open audition.

Earlier this month producers Regal Entertainments appealed for talented performers to appear alongside singing legend Maureen Nolan, Corrie’s Emrhys Cooper and local panto royalty Leanne Campbell in the theatre's biggest of four pantos staged during the year.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will run from November 30-January 12, 2025.

Of the 150 who responded to the theatre's appeal for suitable actresses to play the role, 50 were given live auditions to showcase their singing, dancing and acting skills – and Chantelle came out on top.

Chantelle trained in musical theatre and has since shared the stage with the likes of Welsh star Luke Evans, on the BBC’s Luke Evans Show Time. She has also appeared in three previous pantomimes and in stage musicals.

Panto director and St Helens Theatre Manager Chantelle Nolan said: “We’re delighted to welcome Chantelle to the Regal family. She emerged as the fairest of them all during a day of exceptional auditions."

Chantelle Morgan added: “I feel very lucky and grateful. From the moment I walked into the theatre something just felt right, and I felt very much at home with the warm welcome. I’m excited to step into the role of Snow White."

In addition to Maureen Nolan, Emrhys Cooper and Leanne Campbell – who will play the Wicked Queen, Prince Fredrick and a digital Magic Mirror respectively, Chantelle will also appear alongside St Helens favourites Lewis Devine and Richard Aucott.

Meanwhile the Seven Dwarfs will be voiced, among others, by star comedian Johnny Vegas and well-known actor Louis Emerick.

Regal Entertainments Ltd has been bringing top quality and star-studded productions to the North-West for more than 20 years. It is run by the theatrical powerhouse mother and daughter duo of Jane Joseph and Chantelle Nolan who produce top quality drama, comedy and panto productions which continue to break box office records.
