The UK tour of legendary BBC sitcom-turned-stage comedy Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em has two northern venues in its sights, St Helens Theatre Royal in August and Blackpool's Grand Theatre in May.

Comedian and actor Joe Pasquale plays the loveable but very accident-prone Frank Spencer, with Sarah Earnshaw as his long-suffering wife, Betty. Though well known as a TV comedy star, Joe Pasquale is also firm stage favourite, having appeared in Spamalot and The Producers, among others. As a TV figure, these days he is better known for having been King of the Jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. The comedy, which is at the Theatre Royal from August 2-6 and Blackpool from May 2-6, also features Susie Blake as Frank’s disapproving mother-in-law, Moray Treadwell, James Paterson and Ben Watson. When Frank Spencer is out and about, mishaps and DIY disasters ensue.

Betty has exciting news for Frank, but he is preoccupied by possible new-found fame as a magician. With guests arriving for dinner and crossed wires all round, misunderstandings are on the menu. The show has been based on Ray Allen's 1970s classic TV comedy by award-winning writer and director Guy Unsworth. The 2022 UK Tour opens this month in Hertfordshire and tours nationwide throughout the spring and summer, with Blackpool and St Helens so far the only announced northern stops.
