Share your passion at Leeds Playhouse

Stages, rehearsal rooms, foyers and meeting rooms at Leeds Playhouse will be thrown open to hundreds of community performers to showcase their creativity next summer.

Applications are now being taken for Open Season (July 3-29), the theatre's annual celebration of community activity, which gives individuals, clubs, choirs, dance companies, schools and theatre groups the chance to perform - this year on the theme: Our City, Our World.

As well as performances in the Courtyard theatre, Bramall Rock Void, Playhouse bar and kitchen and various other front of house spaces, Open Season will also include an extensive programme of workshops that offer a positive creative boost without having to perform. Because all events are "pay what you feel", everyone will have the opportunity to experience live performances as an audience member.

The playhouse's participation producer, Luke Dankoff, said: "We'd would love to see a diverse array of work. This is a great opportunity for amateur groups and performers to share their work – their passion – with a wider audience and support each other as part of the Leeds creative community. So be bold, be brave and apply now to take part."

Applications close on January 6.
