The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Hamlet, which closed in Stratford on March 29, will tour next year to northern dates at the Bradford Alhambra (March 3-7, 2026); Blackpool Grand (March 24-28); Theatre Royal, Newcastle (March 31-April 4) and York Theatre Royal (April 14-18).

No casting has so far been announced but, as in Stratford, the creative team is led by multi-award-winning director Rupert Goold, whose recent work includes Dear England (National Theatre) and King Charles III (Almeida Theatre). Joining him are revival director Sophie Drake; set designer Es Devlin; costumes designer Evie Gurney; lighting designer Jack Knowles and composer Adam Cork.

RSC co-artistic directors Daniel Evans and Tamara Harvey said of the new tour: “We are delighted Rupert Goold’s RSC Hamlet will be taking to the road next year. It promises to be a thrilling piece of theatre.

“Our long-term partnerships with regional theatres across England are a central part of our mission to redefine experiences of Shakespeare’s work for young people and adults. We are excited that audiences across England will have opportunities to deepen their connection to the play through participation work happening in and around each of the theatres.”
