Celebrating the show's 10th anniversary and following another run at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, Margaret Thatcher Queen Of Soho arrives at Salford's Lowry (September 10-14).
Created by Cheshire duo Matt Tedford - starring as Margaret Thatcher - and director Jon Brittain, this gay odyssey about LGBT rights, the 1980s and disco, is set in 1988 on the eve of the vote on the notorious "anti-gay" Section 28 of the Local Government Act, which effectively prohibited the "promotion" of LGBT matters by local authorities (and which was repealed five years later).
Maggie gets lost in Soho and accidentally becomes a cabaret superstar. Will she change her mind about her "family values" bill before it’s too late?
