Prince Charming's pal's got talent...

Former Britain’s Got Talent winner Jon Courtenay is set to have a ball as Dandini in Cinderella at St Helens Theatre Royal this Christmas.

Jon is the comedian and musician who won over the judges on the nation's favourite talent show to take the 2020 crown.

The pantomime will run from December 3, 2022 until January 8. Tickets are on sale now.

Jon was awarded the Golden Buzzer by Ant and Dec and went on to become the judges’ choice in the semi-finals before winning the entire competition – the first Golden Buzzer act to take the title.

But Jon had been a live performer for 20 years before his TV triumph, with a popular one-man show mixing comedy, songs, piano and magic.

Since he became BGT champion in 2020 he has appeared on the Royal Variety Show, the Britain’s Got Talent Christmas Special, This Morning, Lorraine and the Michael Ball Show on Radio 2 among others – often performing original songs.

He has recently completed his first UK tour and is set to take his new one-man play, Against The Odds, to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.

He said: “This is only my second pantomime – 21 years ago I appeared in my first Cinderella as an Ugly Sister. I’m looking forward to being cheered instead of booed this time!"
