Dance star of the moment Oti Mabuse (her name means I Am Here - which is also the tour's title – in her native South African Setswana language) comes north, starting this weekend, with her whirlwind celebration of her career influences and inspirations.
From mesmerising Jives and pumping sambas to traditional South African dances, it's an explosive night of dance and music. Oti will be joined by some of the world’s greatest dancers, singers and musicians for a night of superb choreography.
Oti said, “It’s like a dream come true, my first ever tour! Performing on stage is something I feel passionately about and I can’t wait to get out on the road”.
An eight-time South African Latin American Champion, Oti is one of the world's most successful South African dancers, as well as choreographing acclaimed musicals (one of which is The Cher Show, currently in Manchester) and she is now a sought-after UK TV personality.
This year has already been a great year one for the star: as well as becoming a new judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, she will also be host for a new primetime ITV dating show, Romeo and Duet.
I Am Here will see Oti give over 50 performances at the UK’s biggest venues – which begin at Blackpool Opera House on Saturday (May 21); Buxton Opera House (June 9); Leeds Grand (June 17), two nights at The Lowry in Salford ((June 22-23), and a night at Sheffield City Hall (June 25).
