Bolton Octagon has launched a festive appeal to help share the magic of theatre with local families and young people who can't otherwise afford to visit the theatre.
The theatre has set an appeal target of £15,000 throughpublic donations, which can be made online or in person at the theatre.
Every donation will help to provide free or subsidised live theatre and creative opportunities for young people and families. The theatre is hoping to offer its support right through the year.
As a registered charity, the money raised through the Christmas appeal will support a full family programme including a free-admission family festival and other family activities, as well as a £4 affordable ticket scheme.
The Octagon's head of development, Danielle Fearnley, said: “Being creative and enjoying theatre shouldn’t be a privilege. We believe it to be everyone’s right, and aim to share the experience with everyone who might not have had the opportunity before.
"Unfortunately, the number of young people who don’t get a chance to participate drastically increases each year. We want to do everything in our power to share the magic all across Bolton, but as a registered charity we need the public's help.”
