Liza Goddard, Matthew Kelly and Simon Shepherd star in the 40th anniversary UK tour of Michael Frayn’s now-classic comedy Noises Off, visiting Blackpool Grand (October 3-7), The Lowry in Salford (October 17-21), York Theatre Royal (October 31-November 4), and Sheffield Lyceum (November 28-December 2).
Frayn’s oft-revived, frantic farce follows the misfortunes of a touring theatre company, from the shambolic rehearsal before opening night in Weston-super-Mare, to a disastrous show matinee in Ashton-under-Lyne and a final, brilliantly catastrophic performance in Stockton-on-Tees - not that the locations have any bearing on the action, which takes place entirely on and behind the show's stage set.
Liza Goddard's extensive stage comedy credits include Life of Riley, Communicating Doors, Season’s Greetings and Relatively Speaking. Onetime TV host Matthew Kelly won an Olivier award for Of Mice and Men and his many West End credits include Waiting for Godot, Comedians and Troilus and Cressida, while Simon Shepherd is best known from ITV’s Peak Practice and West End productions of Posh, The Duck House, Rapture, Art and Hay Fever.
The trio will be joined by actors Simon Coates, Lucy Robinson, Daniel Rainford, Dan Fredenburgh, Lisa Ambalavanar and Nikhita Lesler.
