Three Manchester-based fringe theatre companies are combining for a new production of an Olivier award winning black comedy.
Red Brick Theatre, Up ‘Ere Productions and Rising Moon present the Manchester premiere of Jez Butterworth's Mojo to Salford's King Arms (May 13-24).
In the seedy gangster underworld of the rock ’n’ roll scene of 1950s Soho, club owners fight for control of Silver Johnny, the latest young sensation.
Director Oliver Hurst said: "It’s incredibly exciting to be bringing such a momentous play to Manchester for its 30th anniversary. The intimate setting of The King’s Arms is the perfect venue for this pressure cooker tale, where loyalty is fleeting and survival hinges on brutality.
"And it’s great to be working with such a stellar cast and to be contributing to the ever-vibrant Manchester fringe theatre scene."

John O’Neill, producer at Up 'Ere and playing Mickey in Mojo, said: "After bringing Cock to Manchester for its premiere last year, Mojo felt like the most exciting and interesting next step. It's a wonderful play that feels just as relevant now as it did 30 years ago."
The cast is: John O’Neill (Cock, Emmerdale, Boat Story); Matthew Khan (Waterloo Road, Good Girl’s Guide to Murder); Jack Elliot (The Mousetrap, The Three Musketeers); Paddy Stafford (Too Much World at Once); Charlie Watkinson (Sexy Beat) and a first professional appearance by Gaz Thomson.
