Judy Craymer’s ingenious combination of Greek-island idyll and ABBA songs has been a global hit since its first production in London in 1999. It was one of the shows too big to be dimmed by Covid: after closing in 2020 due to the virus, it reopened in 2021 and breezed past its 10,000th London performance last year.

The show has had similar success in productions world wide. Now in its 26th year, Mamma Mia! has been seen by over 11 million people in London. The International tour has visited 42 countries in the past 20 years, been performed more than 3,800 times and been seen by almost 7.5 million people.

Mamma Mia! is the ninth-longest-running show in Broadway history, and international productions have been seen on stage by over 70 million people, as well as millions more for the two popular movies.
