Salford's Lowry is looking for performance and visual artists to join its 2022-2024 artist development programme.
Developed With The Lowry applications will be open until August 8, and on offer is a £40,000 fund to assist the development of new work by northern artists – including this year a visual artist, whose work will be presented in the Lowry gallery, alongside five performance-based artists or companies.
The programme, supported by Arts Council England and Salford City Council, supports the development of ambitious, innovative work for The Lowry and other venues, across the UK and internationally.
Recent "Developed With" work includes Snatched by Melissa Johns and Lily Levin, and Igor and Moreno’s immersive dance production Andante.
The Lowry's Antonia Beck said: “Developed With offers a package of support for independent artists and companies committed to creating high-quality work and developing as artists and cultural leaders."
The Lowry’s contemporary art curator, Zoe Watson, said: "For the first time we will be offering an opportunity to a visual or media-based artist to develop an exhibition for our EDITS programme in autumn 2023.”
Each Developed With opportunity will include a commission fee of £5,000 towards the development of a new production or exhibition; £1,000 towards professional development activity; space at The Lowry to research, develop and make work; a performance or exhibition platform at The Lowry; producer support and mentoring from Lowry staff, and general development and marketing opportunities
The deadline for applications is August 8.
