The Lowry in Salford is launching free creative activities to bolster "positive mental health" in lockdown.
From January 19, Creativity for Wellbeing will offer a selection of activites for all age groups, led by professional artists and workshop practitioners. Each activity will run on the same day and time each week for at least the next five weeks on Zoom or live-streamed on Facebook.
The series starts on Tuesday with Under 7s Dance Yourself Happy, which will follow every Tuesday at 9.30am for 30 minutes.
Colour and Craft starts on Wednesday and continues each Wednesday at 12.30pm for 30 minutes.
LS Lowry inspired drawing follows every Wednesday at 6.30pm for two hours.
The Sea Within: Yoga & Mindfulness for children is every Thursday at 12.30 for 30 minutes and
Creative Writing & Poetry runs every Thursday at 6.30pm for two hours.
Walkeoke is every Friday at 11am for 45 minutes.
No experience or skills are required to take part. All are welcome.
Lowry chief executive Julia Fawcett OBE said: “Our timetable is designed to boost mood, enhance energy and promote a sense of calm.
“We hope that offering a fixed schedule will make it easier to factor activities into a working day, lesson plan or other commitments.”
