Spectacular, multi-award-winning show Life of Pi is returning to Salford for just one week this summer by popular demand.

After a phenomenal Christmas season, the show that features "Richard Parker" a life-size puppet Bengal Tiger, will return to The Lowry from July 2-6. Joining the cast and making her UK debut will be Sonia Venugopal, who originated the role of Rani on Broadway and joins the short UK & Ireland tour.

When a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the Pacific, five survivors are stranded on a lifeboat – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, a 16-year-old boy and a 450lb tiger. Time is against them and nature is harsh. So who will survive?

Lolita Chakrabarti's adaptation of Yann Martel's 15m copy-selling novel opened to critical acclaim at the Crucible in Sheffield in 2019, and it has since played on Broadway and will tour Europe following the new UK run. There are plans for a tour of Australia and Asia.

The show won five Olivier Awards in 2022 and following its New York debut in March, recently added three Tony awards to its total.
