Leeds Playhouse has announced four new productions as part of its spring and summer 2024 season.
The Playhouse and imitating the dog will reunite to co-produce a new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s iconic Frankenstein (February 15-24, ahead of a UK tour). In March (5-23) comes a re-staging of director Amy Leach’s Macbeth, which was critically acclaimed on its debut last year and has been seen by thousands of students.
Zog and the Flying Doctors returns February 15-17, and also for family audiences Tom Fletcher’s There's a Monster in Your Show transfers from page to stage (April 9-12) in a new musical from the best-selling Who’s in Your Book? series, created by the multi-talented McFly musician.
Chief executive and artistic director of Leeds Playhouse, James Brining, said: “We're keen to explore classic texts, reshaping and refashioning them for modern audiences."
