Rave-reviewed knockabout comedy company Le Navet Bete (The Daft Turnip) arrives at Salford's Lowry Theatre (September 24-28), with King Arthur, a tale of Camelot unlike any other.
Camelot is in trouble. King Arthur knows if he doesn’t turn things round, this civilisation will be forgotten – nothing more than a rather dull time in British history. But when three squires approach him about changing that legacy, a legend is born.
Since forming in 2008, Le Navet Bete has produced 15 critically-acclaimed indoor and outdoor shows including Serendipity, Zemblanity, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dick Tracy, Robin Hood and His Merry Men, Dracula: The Bloody Truth, The Three Musketeers and Treasure Island. Many can still be seen on tours of the UK and internationally, with the company also playing outdoor events, from the circus fields at the Glastonbury Festival and the beautiful gardens of the Herrenhausen Palace in Hanover, to the picturesque Plaza de Armas in Morelia, Mexico; even high up on the Rock of Gibraltar.
The company's co-founder Al Dunn said “It’s our mission to create and tour hilarious, physical and totally accessible comedy theatre using creative and engaging storytelling for absolutely everyone from four to 104.
