Jack Dale-Dowd has been named the new Chief Executive at Manchester's Contact theatre, after being a member of the Contact organisation for more then 10 years.

“The work Contact does to champion young people, artists and communities is vital to the local and national ecosystem," he said. "I’m excited to start work, planning for the organisation's long-term future with all our staff, board, young people, partners, and communities.”

A statement from the theatre points to a wider reorganisation of Contact's future: "This year we take the time to plan thoughtfully. We are laying the foundation for a future that reflects our values, ambitions, and the incredible potential of the next generation of creative voices."

The theatre's Board of Trustees added: “Contact has always been a place of transformation for young people and artists, and we are incredibly excited to see how Jack’s leadership will guide us into the next era."

*Contact has become one of the first theatres in England to introduce Auracast, a Bluetooth wireless audio system which replaces its outdated, 30-year-old hearing loop.

The new system offers clear sound to anyone using a compatible hearing aid, cochlear implants or Bluetooth headphones or earbuds.

The system enhances accessibility for people with hearing impairments, as well as supporting neurodiverse audience members, who may benefit from minimising background noise.
