Leeds-based international dance company Verve is embarking this month on a series of dates that will take the company around the UK and to Italy.
Verve is the postgraduate company of the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and features 16 dancers from eight different countries. The company's new triple bill of modern dance works will premiere at the Riley Theatre in Leeds on February 28.
Each year Verve commissions renowned international choreographers to push the limits of movement and storytelling and this year has collaborated with three artists: Luca Signoretti, Thanh-Tu 'Sattva' Nguyen and Bosmat Nossan.
Artistic director Matteo Marfoglia said: “Each choreographer offers a distinct perspective, and we are looking forward to seeing how these works resonate with audiences. It’s an opportunity for the dancers to push themselves, and for the audience to experience something new and exciting in contemporary dance.”
The northern tour dates include: Harrogate Theatre (March 10); the New Adelphi Theatre in Salford (March 15); Nuffield Theatre, Lancaster (March 25) and Leeds Playhouse (May 22). The company's European trip will see performances at Teatro Kismet in Bari, Italy on April 29.
