Alexander S Bermange’s revue I Wish My Life Were Like a Musical is the latest hit show at Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre.

This humorous depiction of the unseen world of musical theatre has so far received 50 five-star reviews and comes to Hope Mill from July 2-6.

Covering the journey from wide-eyed drama student to diva or past-it chorus member, or bitter has-been, this show lifts the lid on awful auditions, debilitating dance routines, mid-performance mishaps, backstage backstabbing, super fans and harsh critics – plus the moments that make it all worthwhile.

Following four Edinburgh Fringe seasons and two London runs, the show is on national tour having gathered an astonishing 50 five-star reviews and several award nominations,

Bermange is the writer of 16 musicals (including the multi-award-winning Shadowless), as well as music and songs for theatre productions such as Spitting Image Live, plus comic songs for BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World. He also topped the iTunes’s comedy album chart with Wit & Whimsy, an album celebrating his comedic work.
