Free festival at HOME

HOME has revealed the line-up for the opening weekend of this year's First Street Festival, a five-week, weekend event on the piazza in front of the theatre from June 2.

The festival offers free activities throughout June and July as part of First Street’s Summer at First programme.

The opening weekend includes drag performances curated by Donna Trump, live music from Juba do Leao and Yemi Bolatiwa; yoga with Jenny Roche; DJ sets from DJ Paulette, Steve Varden, Mix-Stress, DJ NikNak and DJ Califace J; family-friendly events hosted by Cheddar Gorgeous, and performances from Young Identity and Accessible Music Productions. HOME has programmed the opening weekend for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, and has worked with four partner organisations to mount the following weekends – allowing a wide diversity of artists and voices from the artistic community of Manchester.

This year’s partners are Brighter Sound, SM Music MGMT, All Hands on Deck and The Untold Orchestra. Their line-ups will be announced in due course.
