Festive cheer for Sleeping Beauty at The Dukes

The Dukes in Lancaster has announced one of the region's rare pandemic-busting pantomimes – a socially-distanced production of Sleeping Beauty.

The show, an inventive new take on the classic tale co-written and directed by Sarah Punshon and Daniel Bye, runs from December 11-31.

Sleeping Beauty reunites the talents of the teams behind The Dukes’ recent successful Christmas productions of Aladdin, Peter Pan and last year’s Cinderella.

The Dukes’ director, Karen O’Neill said: “We're excited to be presenting a new production of Sleeping Beauty this Christmas and we have worked hard to create a socially-distanced performance that captures all the magic of the festive season.

"It's important for us to continue to provide great, dynamic theatre for our communities, safely. We look forward to welcoming families from across the district.”

Social distanced seating plans are in place, with different seating pods available for people to book within their household. Face masks will be compulsory.

Advance booking is required, and bookers can pre-order refreshments at the same time. More info on precedures on the company's website here or by phoning the box office on 01524 598 500.
