Leeds Playhouse and Ramps on the Moon’s co-production of Oliver Twist will be shown as part of National Theatre at Home for a year from February 22. This will be the first production not produced by the National Theatre shown on the streaming platform.
Originally staged at the Playhouse two years ago, the show's UK tour was cut short by Covid-19, though the production's life was extended online last year.
Ramps' director Michele Taylor said “It’s exciting that many more people will get the chance to experience this thrilling show, with its brilliantly embedded sign language, captions and audio description.
"The whole company deserves this opportunity and we couldn’t be prouder of what Leeds Playhouse has achieved.”
Show director Amy Leach said: “Knowing that this epic production is continuing to showcase the creative possibilities of work that places access and inclusion at the heart of the process is amazing. We are so proud that this production, created in Leeds, will now be shown on this vital national stage.”
