The Dukes, Lancaster has announced a new autumn and winter season featuring a wide range of drama, dance and more.

Drama includes Husk (October 2-3) from HER Productions; Sanctuary (October 9) from Red Ladder; Perfect Pitch (October 16-19) - written and directed by John Godber; Blithe Spirit (February 25-March 1) and a two-week-long run of Shirley Valentine (March 12-21), a production from Bolton Octagon starring Mina Anwar. There are also two Shakespeare-inspired titles, Othello (September 20-21) and Alas! Poor Yorick (October 10-12).

Sister venue Moor Space brings back Kin (September 10-13) directed by Sue Jenkins and written by Christine Mackie. Plus The Dreamtime Fellrunner (September 26) written by Julie Carter and directed by local director Dan Bye; Look After Your Knees (October 3) by Natalie Bellingham; Batty! (October 10) and 8 Hours There and Back (October 22).

Before any of those comes this summer's outdoor show in the city's Williamson Park, Alice in Wonderland (July 19-August 25)

For families this autumn there's There’s a Monster in Your Show (October 19), written by McFly’s Tom Fletcher. Dance features two highly skilled physical pieces: Sealskin (September 28) by Tmesis Theatre, and Mariposa October 8), a queer tragedy inspired by Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, by DeNada Dance.

There' s a succession of stand up comedians and a cinema programme that includes the National Theatre Live with Royal Opera and Ballet productions of The Marriage of Figaro, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Cinderella and The Nutcracker.
