The full cast has been announced for new comedy The Salon - The Sequel, which brings fun salon Curl up and Dye to St Helens Theatre Royal in October (3-13).
Drew Quaythe le's 'scomedy original was first seen in 2009 and the thousands who enjoyed it then will be pleased to know local radio star Leanne Campbell will reprise her role as Carol. Leanne will be joined on stage by Hollyoaks actor Darren John Langford and Brookside’s Sarah White (again as Sheila). The cast also features St Helens favourites Katy McKenna and Jenna Sian O’Hara and Liverpool’s Roy Brandon, Conor Barrie and Joe Cowin.
The new show (and you don't need to have seen the first one to enjoy it) sees former salon manager Carol now as its owner, with the world at her finely-manicured feet. With beauty therapist Tia promoting it on her successful podcast and her volatile workmate Sheila finally tackling her temper with anger management classes, the salon has never been more popular. So what could possibly go wrong? An unwanted pregnancy perhaps? The return of the local gangster? In fact just about everything...
Director Chantelle Nolan said: “The Salon was a massive hit when we first staged it 15 years ago, and since then, every time it has returned it has proved to be one of our best-loved and most popular shows. I’m thrilled Drew has revisited Curl Up and Dye’s larger-than-life characters for another series of hair-raising adventures."
