When TV and stage star Kym Marsh makes her Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre debut in April she'll be joined by two former "Corrie" - Coronation Street - colleagues.

Kym - Michelle Connor in the Street and now co-host of BBC breakfast show Morning Live, as well as canteen worker Nicky in Waterloo Road - takes the lead role of hostess with the not-quite mostest Beverley in classic comedy Abigail's Party, at the Exchange (April 4-May 17) - and alongside her will be Graham Hawley and Tupele Dorgu.

The trio have history: Graham was villainous John Stape in Corrie between 2007 and 2011, while Tupele was Kelly Crabtree for six years, both during Kym's time in the soap.

Mike Leigh's classic British comedy is set at the height of 1970s suburbia and wickedly satirises social class and ambition as Beverly Moss holds a pretentious cocktail party. The latest tracks are on the record player, the drinks are flowing and there’s even a bowl of olives – though only husband Laurence seems to like them. As the night moves on and the party gets thick with sexual tension, Beverly’s exclusive gathering quickly descends into chaos.

Completing the cast are, Kyle Rowe (Let The Right One In, Royal Exchange) as new neighbour Tony and Yasmin Taheri (Tartuffe, RSC) as Tony's wife Angela.
