Last year the Manchester Offcut Festival crowned Some Masterchef Sh*t its winner, voted by the audience as the favourite extract of new writing across four heats and an electric final at the city's much-admired 53two venue.

The creative team returns this month (July 17-20) with the full production of Liam High's comedy-drama, to kick off this year’s competition, which runs July 31-August 11.

Through the two characters, Some Masterchef Sh*t uses a queer lens to reimagine one of the most shocking crimes in modern memory. The play’s themes of choice and mental health combine in a fast, funny and tender story.

When Adam and Luke agree to meet, there are many reasons why their relationship shouldn't work. But over their first conversation we see the spiralling story of the unlikely duo ask questions about themselves.

Director James Cave and performers George Miller and Callum Sim are happy to return to 53two for the premiere of the full story of Adam and Luke. And for those who saw and voted for the extract in last year’s festival – that was just the beginning!

Offcut is one of the UK’s most successful platforms for undiscovered writing, acting and directing talent. The festival started in London but moved to Manchester in 2019 and found a new home at 53two.
