This year’s Buxton Opera House pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk (December 6-January 1) will once again be written and directed by Paul Kerryson MBE, one-time artistic director at Manchester's Library Theatre, Oldham Coliseum and The Curve, Leicester.
Now CEO at Buxton, Kerryson promises the show will offer fun and laughter for all ages – and autism-friendly, audio described, captioned and BSL- interpreted performances will ensure all audiences can enjoy it.
Buxton’s regular Dame, James Holmes (Miranda, Worzel Gummidge, Sherlock), is back for his ninth appearance. Toby Shellard joins the cast to climb the beanstalk after recently finishing the UK and Ireland tour of Pretty Woman, and this year also sees the return of Aiden Bailey, last year's Buttons, as Jack's sidekick.
Plotting and scheming at every turn is Mrs Blunderbore, the mother of the Giant, played by Glossop’s own Catherine Pugh, while Ruby Hewitt, is Princess Louise, her first leading pantomime role, but with credits including West Side Story and All The World’s A Stage.
