Sisters are doing it for themselves in Sale this Christmas when the previously unloved and ill-fated Ugly Sisters arrive at the Waterside complex to sing songs, right wrongs and tell it how it is in new musical play The Not So Ugly Sisters.
Presented by award-winning children’s theatre makers Wrongsemble (with Leeds Playhouse and Red Ladder), the family show centres on Dolly and Barb in their hairdressing salon, on the day their sister Cindy is due to be married to Prince Smarming.
Running at just under an hour (without an interval) and featuring original songs, puppetry and funky moves, it’s at Waterside from November 24-January 1.
For smaller children aged 3-7, Lyngo Theatre presents Little Red Riding Hood (December 13-17), a show with a magical wardrobe, a snowy wild wood, animal puppets hiding in trees and catchy songs.
The venue also has festive comedy and music events across a wide spectrum, see here for details
Waterside manager Darren Adams says “After another challenging year, it's great to end on a cultural high with so many shows and companies joining us at Waterside this Christmas.”
