A new production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will fly into the Winter Gardens, Blackpool for Christmas 2024!
The show, which will be touring widely, opens in Blackpool on December 10, 2024 until December 29. Tickets are now on sale.
The tour has also announced northern dates (all 2024) in Newcastle (June 4-8), Bradford (July 9-14), Llandudno (August 13-18), Liverpool (October 8-20) and Hull (October 29-November 2), with more to come.
A full cast is also still to be chosen, but Adam Garcia – Olivier-award nominee for Saturday Night Fever and Kiss Me Kate – will appear as inventor and eccentric Caractacus Potts in performances up to and including Liverpool (but not Blackpool).
Based on Ian Fleming’s story for children and later made into the famous 1968 film, the show features a string of familiar songs, including Hushabye Mountain, Truly Scrumptious and the Academy Award-nominated title song.
This new production will be directed by Thom Southerland (Titanic, Parade), choreographed by Karen Bruce (BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, The Bodyguard) with set and costume design by Morgan Large (Newsies, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat), Musical Supervision by George Dyer (The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Billy Elliot) and casting by Debbie O’Brien.
