Noel Coward classic comedy Blithe Spirit gets a "Blithe meets Bridgerton" northern makeover from Manchester-based HER productions, at the city's Hope Mill Theatre next month (February 12-22, then at The Dukes, Lancaster, February 25-March 1).

Cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine (Peter Stone) finds himself haunted by the ghost of his eccentric late wife Elvira (Kayleigh Hawkins) , much to the displeasure of his current wife, Ruth (Ntombizodwa Ndlovu),…

Director Hannah Ellis-Ryan says: “This is the first time we’ve done Coward, but it’s been one of my favourite plays for years. I’m excited to offer audiences something I know is fun while honouring the text and the medium of a classic farce. We will bring a HER flavour, which for this production will be via the rule-breaking vibe of Bridgerton.“

Coronation Street regular Laura Littlewood (Suki the Reporter) returns to the stage, alongside Karen Henthorn (Coronation Street, Eastenders, Doctors, Heartbeat, Shameless) as eccentric medium Madam Arcati, while Lucas Cheong Smith is Doctor Bradman and Riah Amella is maid Edith.
