Leeds Playhouse’s Christmas family fun adventure for younger audiences, Mr Snow (November 30-January 4) is a bilingual production, performed in both spoken English and British Sign Language.
Creative audio description will also be available (by headsets) at all performances from December 5.
Blessyou is surrounded by penguins, polar bears and piles of snow, spending his days fishing for fish-fingers, dreaming of adventure and avoiding studying for his snow exams. But when his dad brings home a jar of unusual snow, extraordinary things begin to happen.
Writer Robert Alan Evans and Leeds Playhouse’s deputy artistic director Amy Leach created their festive family tale The Night Before Christmas back in 2019 and are teaming up again this year.
The cast is Craig Painting (Oliver Twist, Ramps On The Moon, Robin Hood, Romeo & Juliet), who plays Mr Snow, a polar explorer and expert snowologist. Jayden Reid (Grantchester, EastEnders) is Blessyou, Mr Snow’s son, while Paul Brown (Macbeth, EastEnders) is understudy for both roles.
Mr Snow is sponsored by partner Irwin Mitchell, a committed supporter of the Playhouse’s award-winning access programme since 2009.
