Bat Out Of Hell - the musical featuring Meat Loaf's greatest hits, that premiered at Manchester Opera House in 2017 - returns next year, this time at Manchester's Palace Theatre (February 25-March 8), as part of a new UK tour that also includes Liverpool Empire (January, 20-25) and Leeds Grand (April 21-26), with more dates still to be announced.

Returning to the cast are Glenn Adamson (We Will Rock You, Bat Boy in concert) as Strat; Katie Tonkinson (Bonnie and Clyde) as Raven and original leading cast members Rob Fowler (Mamma Mia!, Tanz Der Vampire Das Musical) as Falco and Sharon Sexton (Mamma Mia, Billy Elliot The Musical) as Sloane.

Based on an arena tour staging from Australia and New Zealand, this revamped production features an eight-piece rock band on stage and multi-level platforms that transport audiences through the diverse worlds of the story. As the Lost's boys and girls flee from ruler Falco, Falco's teenage daughter Raven meets leader of the Lost, Strat, and their intense love at first sight threatens to destroy both their families.

For the stage, award-winning composer Jim Steinman incorporated iconic songs from the Bat Out of Hell albums, including You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, Bat Out of Hell, I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) and Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad, as well as the previously-unreleased song What Part of My Body Hurts the Most.

The show wowed critics and public alike when it first played in Manchester and London. It went on to have successful runs in Canada, Germany and New York, a residency in Las Vegas and an international tour that brought the show back to the UK as well as Ireland, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. It won the Radio 2 audience award for best musical at the Evening Standard Awards and was nominated for eight WhatsOnStage Awards, including best new musical.
