A new UK tour of An Officer and a Gentleman, The Musical launches next year, with the first north west date at Manchester's Opera House (April 30-May 4, 2024).
The show also plays Llandudno, Bradford, York, Sheffield, Liverpool, Blackpool and Hull (full tour list here).
Produced by Leicester Curve, the show is based on the award-winning 1980s movie, which starred Richard Gere. The story features Zack Mayo, a fearless young officer candidate, and the captivating Paula, whose fiery spirit matches his own. The show last played in Manchester in 2018.
Set to a smash-hit soundtrack featuring the songs of Madonna, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Blondie and many more, the power of the music carries the show through the highs and lows of their love affair.
Director Nikolai Foster said: “We are proud to be working alongside the film’s creator, Douglas Day Stewart and an incredible creative team to present this beautiful and inspiring story.
"We are excited to share some iconic 80s songs and this moving story with audiences across the UK.”
