42nd Street new UK tour

A new production of Broadway backstage musical 42nd Street sets out on a UK tour next year.

The upbeat, high-energy musical will call at northern venues Leeds Grand (July 25-29), Liverpool Empire (September 4-9), and Manchester Palace (September 25-30), with further dates still to be announced.

A co-production between Leicester's Curve and London's Sadler's Wells theatres, the show will be directed by Jonathan Church (Singin’ in the Rain, The Drifters Girl) with choreography and design by Olivier Award winners Bill Deamer and Rob Jones.

The feelgood song-and-dance spectacular features songs such as the title number, We’re In The Money, Lullaby of Broadway and I Only Have Eyes For You.

Fresh off the bus from small-town America, young and beautiful Peggy Sawyer arrives in New York City dreaming of her name in lights.
